Kenanga Launches Malaysia’s First Tokenised Funds on Stellar

Kenanga Introduces Myrra for Tokenised Money Market Funds

Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad, or Kenanga Group, joined with Stellar Development Foundation. Stellar is a nonprofit in the United States. It supports the Stellar blockchain. They launched Myrra. Myrra is a platform that turns real-world assets into digital tokens.

The first launch includes:

  • Kenanga Money Market Fund (KMMF)
  • Kenanga Islamic Money Market Fund (KIMMF)

These funds are managed by Kenanga Investors Berhad. They are the first tokenized unit trust funds in Malaysia.

On Myrra, investors can buy and sell tokens. Each token equals one fund unit. Tokens work the same as traditional units. They follow rules and give equal rights to all holders. They also meet strong operational standards.

The launch was announced at Blockchain Summit 2026. It was held by Credit Saison and Pacific Meta in Japan Fintech Week. Using Stellar blockchain, Kenanga Group lets more Malaysians access its money market funds. Investors can buy or sell tokens on Myrra’s web portal.

“Launching Malaysia’s first tokenized funds is a big step for digital innovation,” said Datuk Chay Wai Leong, Group Managing Director.
“Stellar helps build digital systems and supports Malaysia as a blockchain hub.”

“Tokenization improves operations and distribution,” said Datuk Wira Ismitz Matthew De Alwis, CEO of Kenanga Investors.
“It lets more investors join while keeping rules and transparency strong.”

Stellar works for over ten years. It helps with payments, asset issuance, and financial products. It focuses on rules and transparency. Stellar hosts Franklin Templeton’s Benji token. It supports MoneyGram’s USDC in 170 countries. It also helps UNHCR distribute aid with USDC.

“Tokenization gives real value and wider access when built on trusted systems,” said Jose Fernandez da Ponte, President of Stellar Foundation.
“Stellar supports safe financial products, as seen with Kenanga Group.”

Myrra is a big step for Malaysia’s tokenized assets. This market may reach US$43 billion by 2030. It helps Securities Commission Malaysia grow tokenized capital markets safely. It allows faster settlements and better transparency.

KMMF gives steady income and keeps capital safe. It invests in money market instruments, debentures, and deposits. KIMMF follows Shariah rules. It gives similar benefits. Both funds are for investors who want stable, short-term returns with low risk.
